Terms of Service
When commissioning me you agree to the following terms:
♡ The currency used will be US dollars unless specified otherwise.♡ You'll get a rough estimate of the amount of time any given project will take to be completed (give or take a couple of days) after I share the first rough sketch with you. After that, you'll be notified if there's any issues or reasons for a delay.♡ Partial refunds (up to 50%) will be issued if both the client and I (miuyumi) are unable to reach a mutual agreement or compromise on any issues that might arise.
♡ Sending a down payment is necessary for me to start working on your commission.♡ Canvas sizes are final when I start the inking process and cannot be enlarged once set without losing quality on the drawing. I do not work with vectors or make a bigger version of an illustration than the previously agreed upon by the client.♡ As long as the down payment is taken care of, I will honor the final rate we both agreed to even if my prices change before the commission project is complete.♡ I (miuyumi) have the right to post partial or complete depictions of the work I produce for clients on social media on a smaller canvas size or lower resolution than the original whenever possible, as well as using said artwork under my discretion for exposure purposes only. I'm not allowed to commercialize the client’s I.P. or claim it as my own.♡ In case a character design is requested, the I.P. of said design will be created by me, under the client's directions, and will be transferred to them once the final payment goes through. The client will then own the I.P. of the character, but will still need to credit me as the artist.♡ I (miuyumi) am able to reuse part of background designs or secondary assets that don't pertain to the main commission design on other works (leaves on a background wall, a standard bookcase, a clothing pattern, border decoration, sparkles or hearts around the characters, etc) unless the client pays an extra fee for all the assets to be made from scratch.♡ A commission will constitute a fully digital art piece unless specified otherwise. I will not send a physical copy of the work unless agreed upon and specified beforehand. If there’s a need for a physical package to be delivered to the client, both parties will choose and agree on a mailing agent and the shipment fee will be covered by the client.♡ The client SHOULD NOT provide their shipping address to PayPal (checking the “No address needed” box on the last step of the payment verification process) when commissioning a digital piece. I as the artist (miuyumi) am not responsible to provide a physical item in the event where the client chooses to falsely report this allegedly unfulfilled order to PayPal.
Nothing made by Miuyumi may be used in any blockchain-related technology, including NFTs, cryptocurrency or future inventions in this area.The client must specify if the art being commissioned by them will be used commercially beforehand, so we can negotiate the terms and the according fee.
Client's Rights, Obligations & Permissions
♡ It's your obligation to be aware of and have read these Terms of Service. Starting the commission process is an agreement on your part.♡ By paying the final invoice you, as the costumer, declare your conformity with the services or products rendered to you by me, the artist.♡ A client might request sketches/proofs of concept/process pictures at any point - as long as they have made at least a partial payment on their commission.♡ As a client, you might request changes to the design at any point in time after you've paid at least the invoice for the down payment; however if I deemed said change a sufficient increase in my workload, an extra fee will apply. In said case, the modifications will be realized after both parties agree to the cost of said fee which will be added to the final price once the commission is finished, or paid in the spot if the work has been completed or if the client has decided not to continue with the commission process.♡ Up to 3 small changes or edits to to the final piece may be requested free of charge within a week of the transaction being finalized. If I consider the modification large enough to merit extra compensation, a fee will be agreed upon by both parties and the new version of the work will be sent after its completion, once the payment has gone through.♡ Digital copies of the commission will be sent to the client in a zip file, including design variations of said artwork. The client may also ask for copies of the sketch or other parts of the process free of charge.♡ The client is allowed to physically print, make use of and post their commission in social media as long as it's for personal use only and will not claim my (miuyumi's) work as their own or try to impersonate me.♡ The client agrees to credit me (as "miuyumi") whenever possible, and is not allowed to remove the artist's signature unless specified.♡ The client may NOT resell my artwork. If the client has commissioned a character design and has paid for the IP of said design, they may only auction or resell the design itself.

CREDITS
A way to honor the creator of the work you're sharing, helping others who might be interested in find the original artist.
Done by either tagging the creator or linking to their site or socials.
EMOTE
A customizable version of an emoji.
Mainly used on platforms like Twitch, Discord and WhatsApp.
FLATS
A short version of "Flat Color".
The simplest way of coloring a piece without adding any shading, highlights or extra details.
INKING
/ LINEWORK
Refers to drawing the lines and outlines of an illustration.
MODEL
An avatar or visual character design for a channel, it can be animated and rigged so it follows the movements and expressions of the streamer.
PFP / AVI

Q: I had something in mind but I don't see that kind of thing on the list of commission work you do..
A: Ask me about it! Don't be shy, worst thing that can happen is I'll say "Oh sorry, I don't do this kind of thing". There's things I've always wanted to do that aren't listed here because I haven't worked on anything like them yet! :>
Q: What's the difference between 'soft' and 'hard' brushes?
Like the name says, hard brushes tend to have a tighter pixel count and be more opaque compared to soft brushes, which tend to be less opaque and have a softer, sometimes textured finish.
Q: What's the difference between 'simple shading' and 'cel shading' ?
A: Similar to the difference between soft and hard brushes, cel shading refers to a more "blocky" style of shading that is not softened using the blend tool. You'll see examples of cel shading in many 2D anime and animated movies/shows!Soft shading is characterized by a combination of both hard and soft edges, using gradients and blending techniques.
Q: How much do you charge for drawing more than 1 character?
A: About 30% extra for pets and children, 50% extra if most of the body is covered by the first character and 100% per full character.
Q: I saw the name called "Yin Miushi/Miushi" on your art/older posts.. ?
A: Ah, yes! I used to go by that name until 2021 when I decided to rebrand :D
Q: How does the "discount for a smaller canvas" thing work?
A: You'll see this message under several types of commissions on my site!I always try my best to be flexible with my pricing, offering clients ways to reduce my workload and therefore, the price of my work so it fits comfortably within their budget.I just don't think every piece of art needs to be as big as possible, so I offer some discounts to clients if they are content with sizing the piece down a bit - smaller canvases tend to translate into less work time, which in turn means less expensive.
Q: What drawing programs do you use?
A: I use Clip Studio Paint for drawing and sometimes Photoshop CS6 for compiling gifs or doing editing when necessary! Besides those, I use Aseprite for pixel art and Canva for editing sometimes.
Q: What drawing tablet do you use?
A: I use a Wacom Intuos Pro M.

Step by Step
A friendly guide to my commissioning process!
1- Contact
Reach out to me through email, my VGen page or fill out one of the forms on my Home Page and I'll reply as soon as possible!Make sure to let me know your preferred name, pronouns and the type of commissions you're looking for :>Keep in mind it might take me a couple days to get back to you if I'm busy!
2- Description
Let me know what you had in mind regarding the commission!Start with sending me reference pictures and describe your vision of the project as well as you can! Don't forget to also share your budget with me.There's no such thing as too much info, so don't be shy :>
3- Sketch / Proof of Concept
I'll make a rough sketch after compiling the information and references you've provided me so far.I'll try some poses and ideas of my own and reach out to you for feedback.I make the sketches free of charge so you can take some time to make sure I'm a good fit to bring your idea to life and committing to the commission project!
4- Clean Sketch & Down Payment
Once you decide to move forward and properly get the commission started, I'll give you an estimate and ask a down payment.Make sure to provide me with a PayPal email address so I can send an invoice of 30%~50% of the final price. You can also choose to pay 100% upfront.I'll clean up the sketch and make any changes you've suggested so far.
5- Linework / Inking
Once the down payment has gone through and the sketch has been approved of, I'll start inking the piece.You'll receive a preview of the inked linework to review before moving to the coloring stage of the commission.Please make note of any modifications to the design as you need either before or during this part of the process.Changes to the linework might cost extra after this point.
6- Coloring
After the linework is complete and approved of, I'll start coloring your piece.By this point I should have been provided with a color palette, and will ask for one in the case I haven't - you can either send pictures of specific colors and hues you like or describe them to me as best you can.Please make note of any modifications to the design as you need either before or during this part of the process.Changes to the coloring might cost extra after this point.
7- Final Review
Once I consider the piece to be complete I'll send a smaller version as a preview for a final round of feedback on your end.If you love the piece I'll send another invoice over for the rest of the payment and will provide you with the original illustration and any variants of said piece by mail in a zip file.If the finished art piece were to need any small adjustments, they fall under the grace period of the time you've paid me for up to this point; but if I were to deem any changes as substantial enough to require extra compensation, an invoice will be sent with a mutually agreed upon price and the edited piece will be sent upon completion as long as the payment has gone through.

Picking Brushes
A little bit of info to help you make an informed decision!
SOFT BRUSH
A semi-transparent brush with a subtle texture.
Grants drawings smooth, softened edges that merge very well with several layers of shading on the final render.
HARD BRUSH
A sharper, opaque brush that makes cleaner lines.
I use this brush with hard shading (also called 'cel shading') and sometimes gradients to add depth.
My Coloring Process
A simple guide into shading techniques
CELL SHADING
Also called 'hard shading', it's characterized by clean edges on a (usually) single shadow layer. I personally like combining this technique with a hard brush for simpler designs that need to pop, specially hard contrast pieces.You can find this type of brush in most animated cartoon shows and anime.

SIMPLE SHADING
Also called 'soft shading', it's characterized by softened edges on a (usually) single shadow layer. I personally like this type of shading when I want to get a softer look on a piece, since it doesn't amp the contrast values as much as a more complex shading style does.I can make this type of shadng work with both hard and soft brushes.

FULL SHADING
Building from the simple shading up to a fuller, more complex finishing by adding more layers of shading, contrast and textures (when needed). It often provides a 'fuller' effect on shapes and helps details pop.I only work on this technique when inking with soft brushes, since I feel they pair up the best.It's the most time consuming type of coloring I do, therefore tends to be the most expensive one as well.
